“I do a lot of work on the computer with my job. About a year ago, I began experiencing really bad neck and upper back pain.
As time went on, I started getting tingling and numbness down my arm. I went to several doctors but got a different answer each time, along with a different drug prescription. Nothing worked and the problem was getting worse.

“I work in a sheet metal shop so I do a lot of overhead manual labor. For the past 5 years, I’ve had burning, stabbing pain and numbness down the right arm to my hand, and up from the shoulder to my neck and face.
It really interfered with my life and reached the point where I was thinking about going on disability and quitting my job.

“A few years ago, for no reason I started getting neck and shoulder pain. Over time my shoulder became stiffer and more painful. I also started to get burning and numbness going down the left arm to my hand.
An orthopedist told me that I had Frozen Shoulder and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. The medications weren’t helping so he scheduled me for manipulation under anesthesia.
He said that during the procedure I would be sedated and he would stretch the shoulder to tear up the scar tissue in order to free it up.
I was actually gowned and set up in the O.R. for the procedure when I panicked and jumped off the table. I told the surgeon I wasn’t going through with it. He was pretty angry but that was my decision.

“I was diagnosed with TOS about 2 years ago. I had a lot of pain in the side of my neck, under the collar bone and around my shoulder. Also, pain and tingling all the way down my arm to the hand.
The doctor who diagnosed me gave me so many meds that I felt like I was getting immune to them. Plus, they only numbed me for a while before the symptoms came right back. I really wanted another solution.

“I had a car accident three years ago. I had a pretty bad whiplash so my doctor prescribed pain meds and anti-inflammatories.
The major pain subsided over time but I started to get a strange feeling down my arm. Tingling, pain and numbness, especially at night. I went to therapy at the hospital but it really didn’t get rid of the problem.

At this point after a month of care my symptoms are at least 80% better and I’m still improving. I’m so happy I found the Thoracic Outlet Center. I has changed my life so much for the better."
